Mr. Truax is a member of the Litigation and Real Estate Departments, and focuses primarily on a variety of construction and real estate matters, commercial and environmental litigation, and product liability. In addition to his extensive experience in complex business and tort litigation, Mr. Truax works with contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers to preserve, pursue, and defend claims in connection with public and private projects. Prior to practicing law, he worked for multiple contractors, giving him invaluable experience in various areas of construction. That practical knowledge combined with experience in representing companies in complex business disputes has allowed Mr. Truax to develop a practice of advising and counseling clients to assess and manage risk in all circumstances, including those beyond the construction field. Mr. Truax has also litigated and tried numerous commercial cases to judgment in state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitrations. He alsopreviously acted as an assistant city solicitor and prosecutor for a municipality near Cincinnati, Ohio, trying numerous criminal and traffic cases and counseling the city on ordinance, land use, and development issues. Mr. Truax earned his J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2005 and his B.S. from Ohio University in 2001.
