SBA Paycheck Protection Program Direct Forgiveness Portal

By Brandon J. Leal, Esq.

In an effort to streamline the forgiveness process, the Small Business Administration has launched the Paycheck Protection Program Direct Forgiveness Portal. However, for borrowers to take advantage of the direct forgiveness portal their lenders must elect to participate and only borrowers with loans of $150,000.00 or less are eligible to seek loan forgiveness through the direct forgiveness portal.  At the time the portal was launched, more than 600 banks had elected to participate in the program.  Despite this new opportunity, it is still important for borrowers to continue to work closely with their lenders and professional advisors.  Please contact your professional advisors for more information
