Why did you begin practicing in your area of law?
Years ago, as a new lawyer at a large downtown Cleveland law firm my rotation among various departments took me to the estate planning section. The many sophisticated estate plans to pass family wealth to the next generation were endlessly fascinating to me, especially with my strong background in economics. This area of law continues to be thrilling because of all of the never-ending tax law tweaks.
What are your hobbies, interests, or talents outside of law?
Nature is my passion. Being immersed in the sights and sounds of the world while taking a walk in a park, or sitting by a stream, lake, ocean, or even looking out of the window at all the wildlife in the back yard makes me complete.
What quote resonates with you?
“Life is the saddest thing there is, next to death; yet there are always new countries to see, new books to read (and, I hope, to write), a thousand little daily wonders to marvel at and rejoice in… the visible world is a daily miracle for those who have eyes and ears; and I still warm my hands thankfully at the old fire…”
- Edith Wharton
What else should we know about you?
My goal is to support people around me in achieving economic and social prosperity and family peace. As someone from a multi-cultural background raised in an intergenerational household and with formal training in diplomacy and economics, my understanding of nuanced intra-family financial and emotional dynamics is very good. People choose to work with me because I get them and strive to make their lives better.
